Standing in the que outside St Paul's Cathedral at 17:00 waiting for doors to open for the performance starting at 18:30. Temperature is around 0 degrees.
Last day in London - Wednesday 8 December 2010

We spent several hours at Westfield, the biggest shopping centre in Europe. After this we headed back for a packing session at the Hotel before making our way back to St Paul's Cathedral for tonight's performance of Handel's Messiah.

The thirty strong trebles and twelve men was augmented by the St Pauls Cathedral Chorus , which meets for, amongst others, performances of Bach's Passion in Holy week and Handel's Messiah during Advent.

All the soprano solos were sung by Choristers of the cathedral. The six trebles ranged in age from roughly eleven to thirteen, and the singing was superb. The orchestral playing was excellent, with very clear direction from the Director of Music, Andrew Carwood, who is also the first non-organist to hold this position since the 12th century.

This morning we woke at 4:45 to get ready for our flight at 9:10 to Paris.
